CCW COURSES now offered several days per week

DUE TO CALIFORNIA SENATE BILL 2, WE ARE REVISING OUR ENTIRE WEBSITE. 

We are currently updating our websites. The important changes to be aware of until we roll out the final version are as follows: Initial CCW training classes are 16 hours (2 days of training). Renewal CCW classes are 8 hours. Both classes do include a one hour mental health component in the classroom. You will be required to provide 3 character references on your initial or renewal application. ALL guns on your permit must be owned and regsitered to you in the Calironia law enforcement firearms database (no family member exceptions, including no exception to a spouses' gun. If you purchased your gun in California within the last 30 or so years, it is already regsitered to the purchaser). As of 01/06/2024, the "sensitive areas" of Senate Bill 2 (where a gun cannot be carried) has been struck down by the 9th Circuit court. Stay tuned for more info on that to follow. Otherwise, please ignore the rest of this website until it is completely updated with current information and content.

All classes begin at the classroom facility on Nicolaus Road in Lincoln, and range work is completed during the class, at a nearby range.  

Whether you are new to shooting, or an advanced shooter, it is imperative that you get the very best training available. At BEST CCW Training, we will provide you with that training and experience which you deserve. Our instructors have a combined experience of over 140 years of law enforcement, CCW training, NRA training and instructing new shooters what they need to know to be safe and effective, while implementing the best (and updated) techniques and strategies.

You owe it to yourself to get the best training, and this is exactly what we provide. When training with A BEST CCW Training or one of our referral instructors, you will learn a tremendous wealth of knowledge, rather than taking a "bare minimum" training class from an instructor that may not be prepared to teach the appropriate lessons, or from a newer firearms instructor without the knowledge and skills in which we possess.

We instruct multiple classes per week.  Whether you need a last minute training class, or if you are scheduling your class a month in advance, or even a last minute reschedule, we are your one stop shop! Our 24/7 online scheduling calendar will make your scheduling easy...as simple as that.

It is YOUR duty and responsibility to be safe with firearms, as well as knowledgeable with the laws.....

And our CCW training will provide you with the knowledge, and more importantly, an in depth discussion of laws, examples and scenarios pertaining to CCW, in which you need to apply on a daily basis, and consistent routine, to responsibly carry a concealed weapon, as well as maintaining your marksmanship skills.

For the CCW training, you will be required to qualify (demonstrate your ability to use the firearms safely and accurately), at 15 yards or less. We will not be teaching you military or sniper tactics, but we will teach you everyday "above common sense" approach tactics, as well as situational awareness skills. You will enjoy the safe atmosphere of our range.

If you have "handgun" safety and "recent" handgun shooting experience, the qualifications are rather simple if you know your guns, and gun safety. If you are looking for para-military training, you should consider taking that type of training through the military. Our training courses prepare you for the real every-day world, and are scenario driven. We are sincere, and understand that a CCW training should not consist of playing boring videos, or sharing war stories, but rather consist of real world everyday carry techniques and strategies.

A BEST CCW Training's indoor classroom instruction is in a private, professional facility, with plenty of free parking. We do utilize an outdoor shooting range nearby for live fire drills, qualifications and other exercises. SAFETY IS OUR #1 CONCERN.

A Best CCW Training offers the mandated 16 hour training for your CCW requirements, as required for your particular county, as well as the state mandated minimum 8 hour refresher training.

We are currently offering initial CCW training and renewal CCW training for the following CA counties:  Contra Costa, El Dorado County CCW, Nevada County CCW, Placer County CCW (referral), Sacramento County CCW, San Joaquin County CCW, Sierra County CCW (referral), Sutter County CCW (referral), Yuba County CCW. We are certified for the Utah concealed weapon permit instruction/certification (36 states).

Driving directions:  

From I-80, exit Hwy 65 towards Marysville (North). Exit (to the right) at Nelson Lane (no off-ramp, but there is a traffic signal). This is one exit beyond the Ferrari Ranch off-ramp. Drive about a mile, and at the Nelson Lane stop sign, turn right on to Nicolaus Road. At the 2nd stop sign, turn left on Lakeside Drive, and then a right into the Chevron (Power Mart) gas station parking lot.

After successful completion of our Basic Handgun course, you are eligible to attend our Concealed Weapons Permit training for an additional $75.00 + range fee (provided that you have no CCW disqualifying factors). However, DO NOT purchase this Basic Handgun course (or any discounted offer) specifically for a CCW course. The CCW course is an entirely different training package.

A Best CCW Training Instructors are certified by either (one or all of the following):  National Rifle Association, CA Department of Justice, POST (Peace Officers Standards and Training).

Firearms safety is of the utmost importance. It is our goal to educate and teach you the  knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning, using and storing a firearm safely. 

We strongly encourage the continued development of these skills, while enhancing your skills, and pursuing the sport of target shooting, competitive events and other courses. We do offer some of these continuing education courses.

Gun Safety is a very serious matter, which cannot be taken lightly. Becoming a handgun owner or a Concealed Weapons Permit Holder assumes a tremendous amount of responsibility and liability.

Just because you own or may have access to a firearm (unless you have had some extensive training) doesn't mean that you have the "proper" training, knowledge and ability to use it safely, store it properly, and be prepared for any situation. The proper and responsible training with a firearm is extremely important. Our formal training class will instill these skills in which you must have to be a responsible, CCW permit holder. CCW permit holders are held to a higher standard than the average gun owner.

Whether you are new to shooting, or an experienced shooter, you will find that the variety of firearms courses which we offer will be a great wealth of experience.

A Best CCW Training conducts regularly scheduled training classes throughout the month. Our calendar is posted online, on or about the 15th of each month, for the following month.

The NRA does not currently certify CCW (Carry Concealed Weapons) courses.

A Best CCW Training also provides a Concealed Firearms Permit training certification for 36 "shall issue" states. This is an excellent opportunity to satisfy the requirements for these states, while only needing to apply (by mail) within one or more states to obtain reciprocity throughout many other states (excluding CA, as CA does NOT have reciprocity agreements with any other state).

Although A Best CCW Training provides CCW Training and Instructions/Certifications/Qualifications in 36 states, this does not apply to all CA counties. CA CCW training requirements may vary from county to county. Please research your particular county, and feel free to email or call for further clarifications.
